Warehouse Operator
SUMMARY
Responsible for operating material handling equipment to accomplish order fulfillment activities in both the production and distribution areas. Obtains finished goods (cases, pails, drums, etc.) from warehouse and production storage locations using manual or powered material handling equipment. They assemble pallet loads of product for outbound shipment according to established procedures, directions, and pick lists. Complete documentation of pallet product accurately and legibly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. These duties are not in any specific order.
- Completes accurate record keeping of picked finished goods and materials and adheres to department quality benchmarks, standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Maintains the cleanliness of warehouse areas and equipment used during the course of the work shift.
- Performs required maintenance (startup and watering activities) of equipment as assigned, ensures that equipment is performing properly, and communicates any safety or mechanical deficiencies to appropriate management.
- Follows all safety guidelines for the operation of powered material handling equipment.
- Works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of two years of work experience in a manufacturing or warehousing operation is preferred, but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, company policy manuals, and pick tickets. Ability to write and complete inventory records and other departmental forms. Ability to speak effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized solutions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires operation of material handling and production equipment in a manufacturing atmosphere. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, reach, bend and twist. The employee regularly is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, including performing some work overhead. The use of safety equipment including an attachment lanyard and vest for elevated work (up to 15 feet) is required. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves cased finished goods and pails weighing as much as 60 pounds. Product drums may weigh 500 pounds and require some strength and proper technique to tilt them and shift them onto pallets.

This is a manufacturing facility. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to noisy and instances of operating mechanical equipment may require hearing protection. The temperature in the work environment can be extreme from 20 to 95 degrees, inside and outside. The work areas may be wet. The work areas may include uneven surface
