We are currently looking for a LOGISTICS COORDINATOR. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for performing and coordinating the daily transportation of all outbound and a significant portion of inbound materials with truckload and LTL carriers. The Logistics Coordinator will select the carriers from the available network and through brokers. The Logistics Coordinator manages relationships with carriers to optimize costs and service levels.

Summary of Essential Job Duties

• Primary contact for all freight brokers, carriers and 3PL services.
• Contracts with LTL transport companies via 3PL portal and with full truckload carriers via broker.
• Plans carrier pickup times based on product availability and customer needs.
• Ensures that carriers provide timely and realistic updates on deliveries.
• Assists team in addressing transportation customer concerns.
• Produces transportation documents including external bills of lading, customs invoices, packing lists, etc. according to hazardous materials regulations.
• Ensures internal distribution documents (pick tickets, loading sheets, etc.) are completed and assembled with necessary order details.
• Captures all tracking data and utilizes technology to streamline shipping documents and data collection.
• Audits freight invoices versus contract prices and approves any discrepancies.
• Processes any necessary freight claims.
• Works with support staff to deliver product to all outbound carriers.

Education and/or Experience

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Prior experience in a warehouse, transportation, shipping and receiving related capacity
• Preferred experience in a manufacturing setting
• Significant experience versus degree will be considered
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Understanding of freight tariffs and proficiency in on-line routing programs is required.
